Mozambique Government Reverses on Telecoms Tax
The Mozambican government has back tracked on a proposed new tax on users of mobile phones, but said that an equivalent tax would be applied to the networks themselves. The Minister of Transport and Communications, Paulo Zucula, told reporters that the networks would be asked to pay 30 meticais (US$0.83) per contract subscriber and 5 meticais per PrePay subscriber. more
