Indian Regulator Publishes Draft MNP Proposals
India's telecoms regulator, the TRAI has published its draft regulations for the forthcoming Mobile Number Portability in the country. The Authority had issued a consultation paper on MNP in July 2005 and submitted its recommendations to Department of Telecom (DoT) in March 2006. In these recommendations, the Authority had recommended implementation of MNP in the whole country in a phased manner, starting from Metros and A category service areas followed by B and C category service areas. more

Russian Operator Orders Anti-Fraud Platform
Russia's VimpelCom has ordered a roaming fraud software package from syniverse Technologies so that it can meet the GSM Association's new anti-fraud Near Real Time Roaming Data Exchange (NRTRDE) standard. syniverse also provides all seven national operators in the VimpelCom group with data clearing services. more

Syniverse to Provide Wireless Clearinghouse Services for Vodafone
syniverse Technologies says that it has secured a worldwide contract to provide GSM data clearinghouse services to Vodafone Group. Under the terms of the multi-year agreement, Vodafone has designated syniverse as its data clearinghouse and the authorized receipt point for the exchange of billing data between Vodafone Group and its roaming partners. syniverse recently announced plans to establish a clearinghouse data center in Europe by the end of first quarter 2006 to provide the streamlined processing of roamer billing data and customer support for its growing list of European customers. more
