HTC Expects to Sell Up To 2 Million Google Phones by End 2009

Taiwan's HTC is expected to sell some between 1.5 and 2 million Android based "Google Phones" to T-Mobile USA, with up to 500,000 being sold before the end of this year. Sources say that the new handset should boost HTC revenues by NT$18 billion (US$560 million) next year.  more

LG Aiming to Overtake Motorola in Handset Rankings by 2010

Motorola May Fall to 5th Place in Q2 Handset Ranking

Motorola is predicted to fall to fifth place in the global ranking for mobile phone sales according to sources in the Taiwan handset industry. The sources told the DigiTimes publication that the latest estimates predict that Motorola will ship only 22-23 million units in the second quarter, as compared to 28.1 million and 24 million units projected for LG and Sony Ericsson, respectively.  more

Symbian Reports 18.5 Million Handsets Using its OS Shipped in Q1

Smartphone OS vendor, Symbian has reported that 18.5 million Symbian mobile phones were shipped to consumers worldwide in Q1 of this year - a 16.5% increase on Q1 2007 (15.9m). The company also reported a 92% growth in consulting services from £2.5 million in Q1 2007 to £4.8 million in Q1 2008.  more
