T-Mobile USA has launched a lawsuit against the coffee chain, starbucks alleging that company has not held to an agreement over their Wi-Fi service. T-Mobile has provided a chargeable Wi-Fi service to the US branches of starbucks for the past seven years, but it was recently announced that the contract would terminate at the end of this year and be replaced by a service from AT&T.  more

More moves to develop WLAN usage

KPN has acquired a controlling interest in the wireless local area network 'hotspot' provider HubHop in the Netherlands. KPN's German subsidiary E-Plus has also announced a far-reaching wireless LAN (WLAN) cooperation agreement with NetCheckIn GmbH in Germany. These initiatives will help KPN strengthen its position in the emerging WLAN market, providing the basis for the further development and deployment of wireless broadband access services. more
