Celcom Boosts its Messaging and Prepaid Capacity
LogicaCMG says that it has deployed a major mobile messaging and mobile payments upgrade with Malaysia's Celcom, serving over 5 million prepaid subscribers. The contract valued at approximately over US$16 million includes the deployment of LogicaCMG's Next Generation Short Messaging Service Centre (smsc), Intelligent Network Platform, Pre-Delivery Service Agent and Business Tools solutions. more

Scandinavian mobile operator Hi3G Access AB, under the brand 3, has replaced its smsc (Short Message Service Centre) technology with Telsis Intelligent SMS Routing. smscs have often been seen to limit throughput during high profile events that rely on text messaging for audience interaction. Russia's MTS (Mobile TeleSystems) has awarded LogicaCMG a US$7.3 million order, as part of the framework agreement signed with MTS in September last year. This new order builds on the first phase contract valued at US$5.6 million, which saw LogicaCMG upgrading MTS' existing LogicaCMG Short Message Service Centre (smsc), and the deployment of LogicaCMG Wireless Service Brokers (WSBs) and Multimedia Messaging Service Centres (MMSCs) in February this year. more

Saudi network improves its customer care
Logica has won a contract from the Saudi Telecom Company (STC) to establish a customer relationship management (CRM) and multi-channel customer contact centre for STC's mobile phone business. In 2003, the Saudi Telecoms market will become deregulated, creating a more competitive landscape for its mobile operators. In order to help maintain its market position, STC will develop a comprehensive CRM strategy. The Logica-developed contact centre will be critical to STC's first phase of its overall CRM initiative. more
