The Philippines based mobile network operator, Smart Communications has selected Aicent's mBridge to enhance multimedia message service (MMS) delivery for their subscribers. SMART is using both Aicent's MMS Gateway service along with the enhanced mBridge Virtual Delivery.  more

Visa Sued Over SMS Alerts Service

Credit card merchant, Visa is being sued by a small US firm for allegedly infringing a patent which covers the use of sms to alert spenders of transactions. Charge Notification Services Corporation is a relatively young company in Miami, Florida, that offers information processing services to credit card issuing banks. The C.N.S.C. patent covers charge card transaction authorization and/or notification in real-time via sms to the cardholder's cellular phone. VISA and some of their bank partners have recently been offering this service.  more

SMS Based Adverts for Food and Fashion Increase

comScore reports that the mobile marketing landscape in Europe is evolving as fewer consumers say they are receiving advertisements for mobile products and services while more receive adverts for consumer goods such as food, fashion, restaurants, travel and financial services. Over the past year, the number of people receiving sms adverts for mobile products and services fell nine percent in Europe, while the number receiving offers for non-mobile consumer goods and services climbed 15 percent.  more
