SK Telecom 3rd-Quarter Profits Jump 25%

­South Korea's SK Telecom  has reported a 5.4% rise in third-quarter revenues to KRW 3.057 trillion (US$2.57 billion), while operating income rose by 22.7% to KRW 618.8 billion. Net income reached KRW 415.9 billion (US$350 million), growing by 24.7% year-on-year and 33.5% quarter-on-quarter.  more

China Unicom Buys Back South Korean Stake for $1.3 Billion

­South Korea's SK Telecom has sold its 3.8 percent stake in China Unicom back to the Chinese mobile network operator for US$1.3 billion, the Chinese company has announced. World's First Rich Communication Suite-based Service Now Live in South Korea

The GSM Associate (GSMA) has announced that the world's first interoperable communication service incorporating key elements of its Rich Communication Suite (RCS) specifications is now a live commercial service in South Korea.
