Russia's Sistema Mulling Telekom Austria Takeover
Russia's sistema Group is reported to be looking to buy Telekom Austria Group in a deal worth in excess of US$6 billion. The Austrian Krone newspaper, citing market sources said that sistema was prepared to pay significantly over the current share price, which values the company at around US$6 billion. This would represent a significant discount on the US$9.8 billion that the company was valued at in September 2008, when Egypt based Orascom Telecom was in merger talks with the company. more

Magyar Telekom Among Bidders For Telekom Srpske -Agency
BUDAPEST -(Dow Jones)- Hungary's incumbent telecommunications service provider Magyar Telekom is among eleven companies interested in bidding for a 65% stake in Bosnia's Telekom Srpske, state news agency MTI said Wednesday quoting a report by AFXNews. Among the other companies eyeing the Bosnian company are France Telecom, Telenor, Telekom Srbija, Telekom Austria and Russia's sistema Telecom. more
