Fractus Sues Ten Cellphone Manufacturers for Patent Infringement

Ten mobile phone vendors are being sued for allegedly infringing patents relating to internal antennas used on their handsets. Spanish antenna manufacturer, Fractus says that is has sued Samsung, LG, RIM, Pantech, Kyocera, Palm, HTC, sharp, UTStarcom, and Sanyo for infringing nine different patents.  more

Pantech Improves Music Quality on Handsets

SRS Labs says that it has licensed its SRS WOW HD audio enhancement technology to the South Korean handset manufacturer, Pantech for use in their handsets. With this initial handset, IM-U130 CDMA phone, Pantech has become the first customer to enable SRS Labs' next-generation 3D stereo enhancement technology for use in a handset. The phone is available immediately on the SK Telecom network in Korea. more
