samsung says that - based on data from Gartner - it was the top Android smartphone provider in terms of sell through to end users in the United States for the third quarter of 20102. According to Gartner, samsung Mobile captured 32.1 percent of the U.S. Android smartphone market in Q3 2010 based on retail sales, an increase from 9.2 percent of the Android smartphone market in Q4 2009.  more

Samsung Mobile Installs 115 Charging Stations at Three of the Busiest U.S. Airports

samsung Mobile has set up 115 charging stations at three more US airports to enable passengers to recharge their mobile phones if necessary. The new airports are George Bush Intercontinental Airport in Houston (IAH), Miami International Airport (MIA) and Washington Dulles International Airport (IAD). With today's additions, samsung Mobile has installed charging stations in 10 of the nation's busiest airports in the USA, which are accessible to more than 395 million passengers annually.  more

InterDigital Gets Setback in Samsung Lawsuit

InterDigital has had a setback in its bid to block the import of samsung mobile phones into the USA while it argues a legal patent lawsuit against the company. Evidentiary hearing in the United States International Trade Commission (USITC) investigation started yesterday, where the company tried to argue that samsung has violated laws by engaging in unfair trade practices by selling for importation, importing into the United States, and selling after importation certain 3G handsets and components that infringe five of InterDigital's patents.  more

Samsung Mobile Installs New Recharging Points in Airports

samsung Mobile has installed new phone and laptop charging stations in terminals at LaGuardia Airport (LGA) and Orlando International Airport (MCO). samsung Mobile Charging Stations have four outlets per station, allowing several travelers to re-charge their electronic devices at the same time. The charging stations are designed to re-charge personal electronics designed for U.S. voltage (i.e., 120 volts). The charging stations are also equipped with a small shelf to hold travelers' mobile phones and other electronic equipment.  more
