Samsung Revenues and Profits Hit All Time High

­South Korea's Samsung Electronics has reported that its fourth-quarter revenues rose by 7 percent to KRW 41.87 trillion (US$37.6 billion), while net profits jumped by 13 percent to KRW 3.42 trillion (US$3.07 billion). The fourth quarter results brought Samsung's full year 2010 revenue to an all-time high of KRW 154.6 trillion (US$138.7 billion), up 13-percent from last year. Full year net income reached a record high of KRW 16.15 trillion (US$14.5 billion), up 65 percent compared with the previous year.  more

Samsung Profits Jump by 17% on Record Revenues

South Korea's Samsung Electronics has reported that its third-quarter revenues rose by 12 percent to a record of KRW 40.23 trillion (US$35.74 billion), while net profits rose by 17 percent to KRW 4.46 trillion (US$3.96 billion). Consolidated operating profit for the quarter was KRW 4.86 trillion. Provisions for various patent-related expenses totaling KRW 230 billion were reflected to third quarter earnings. Without these provisions, operating profit would have been close to KRW 5.1 trillion.  more

Samsung Launches the Galaxy S in China on All Three Networks

Samsung Electronics has announced plans to launch its Galaxy S smartphone in partnership with all three Chinese mobile operators. The Galaxy S will be available on three different 3G standards, with China Telecom offering a CDMA2000 device (Model Name: SCH-I909), China Mobile providing a TD-SCDMA model (GT-I9008), and China Unicom marketing a WCDMA version (GT-I9088).  more
