South Korea's Samsung Electronics has said that it has signed an exclusive agreement with Nokia to provide DRAM chips for use in Nokia's cell phones. Samsung will initially supply 64Mbit DRAM chips, and eventually move to supplying 128Mbit chips later. Samsung only started mass production of DRAM chips last month, and the value of the contract was not disclosed. Cell phones traditionally use SRAM (static random access memory) chips, but manufacturers are switching to DRAM (dynamic random access memory) as it offers greater memory storage." more
