Rogers Wireless and MTS Allstream To Build HSPA Network in Manitoba
Canada's Rogers Wireless says that it has entered into a deal to build a HSPA network in Manitoba in cooperation with MTS Allstream with the rollout due to be completed in 2010. Rogers Wireless and MTS Allstream have also agreed to provide MTS Allstream with the opportunity to launch a national wireless business offering under the Allstream brand through a wholesale arrangement. more

Canadian Operator Doubles Mobile Data Download Speeds
Canada's Rogers Wireless has launched a nationwide HSDPA upgrade onto its network, offering peak downloads of 7.2Mbps. The Rogers 3.5G next generation network is now available in Canada's top 25 markets from Victoria to Halifax and other main markets, with additional locations to cover 75% of the population by the end of December 2008. more

Canada's Fido Launches HSPA Service
The Canadian GSM operator, Fido has announced that its HSPA network is now available to customers in 25 markets from Quebec City to Victoria. The Fido 3G high-speed experience suite of services includes mobile and multimedia features such as wireless video calling, streaming video-on-demand, over 25 channels of mobile television and streaming radio-on-demand, including popular XM Satellite radio stations. more

Canada's Rogers Wireless is currently running trials of an enhancement to its recently launched HSPA network - to increase download speeds to 7.2 Mbps. Rogers will have spent approximately CA$500 million (US$517 million) over the past two years upgrading its network to support HSPA services. more
