New research, commissioned by OSS vendor, Comptel has found that mobile service providers are surprisingly upbeat about the mobile sector's potential in the year ahead. The research found that over half expect mobile operators to be less affected than the wider economy and the majority think that mobile operators face less of a challenge than service providers from other sectors of the communications industry. more

cVidya Networks has published the results of a Revenue Assurance Benchmark report carried out in collaboration between the TM Forum and cVidya Networks and based on the TM ForumÃ's 10 standard KPI methodology. Anti-Fraud Software Deployed at Zimbabwe Network
Zimbabwe's Econet Wireless is deploying Subex Azure's Ranger (now known as Nikira) Fraud Management and Moneta Revenue Assurance products. The company wanted to ensure that it was maximizing its revenues by reducing telecoms fraud, in particular the practise of 'refilling' calls, whereby international calls are diverted before they reach Zimbabwe and are renumbered to appear as local calls. This practice was costing the company millions of dollars and causing congestion on international routes resulting in network degradation and poor quality of service. more
