Femtocells Deliver 5-Times Speed of Macro Network in Operator Trials
Femtocell developer, Airvana has published results of performance tests of the company's HubBub CDMA femtocell which it says demonstrated dramatic improvements for indoor 3G coverage and performance when compared with using the existing macro-cellular network alone. Based on the results of side-by-side testing, a typical HubBub user can expect to achieve broadband data rates throughout their house of approximately five times that of the existing wireless macro network. more

CDMA base station modifications for New Zealand
ADC has said that Telecom New Zealand will use it's Digivance 50 Watt 800MHz digital hybrid fiber radio solution in a new base station hotel architecture. Digivance is a digital radio frequency (RF) distribution technology used to distribute RF signals from the base station hotel location to remote antenna sites, improving wireless coverage and capacity. The deployment will consolidate some of Telecom New Zealand's CDMA base stations located in the carrier's service area. more
