CDG Sets Up Group To Speed CDMA Handset Development
The CDMA Development Group (CDG) has announced that CDMA2000 operators and handset manufacturers have formed working groups to aggregate their requirements for different tiers of devices based on the documents developed by the CDG's Global Handset Requirements for CDMA Team (GHRC). The individual working groups focus on ultra-low tier handsets, mid-tier data devices (including 1xEV-DO data card, 1X and 1xEV-DO WorldMode interstandard devices) and CDMA450. more

CDMA group joins with more industry bodies
The CDMA Development Group (CDG) has signed joint membership agreements with Cellular Telecommunications and Internet Association (CTIA), Latin American Wireless Industry Association (Alacel), and an MoU with Association of Telecommunications Enterprises of the Andean Community (ASETA). The CDG has been a long-standing member of Third Generation Partnership Project 2 (3GPP2), Inter-American Telecommunication Commission (CITEL), International Telecommunication Union (ITU) and Telecommunications Industry Association (TIA). more

Mexico tests GSM-CDMA roaming SIM cards
The CDMA Development Group (CDG), in collaboration with the smartcard manufacturers, SchlumbergerSema and Gemplus along with Mexico's cellular network, Grupo Iusacell have conducted the first successful CDMA r-uim trial in the Americas. The successful CDMA SIM card trial is the first phase in Iusacell's plan to conduct full CDMA/GSM interoperability roaming trials with a GSM network operator. more
