Qualcomm Fined $200 Million by Korean Anti-Trust Body

The South Korean Fair Trade Commission (KFTC) has imposed a US$200 million fine on qualcomm for allegedly breaking Korean competition law. The KFTC said that when licensing its CDMA technology to Korean firms, qualcomm had levied higher royalties on companies that used modem chips supplied by rival companies.  more

Qualcomm Raises its Outlook for the Next Financial Quarter

Shipment data for the cellular modems used to connect laptops and netbooks to the Internet indicate that more than 35 million of the devices hit the market in 2008. Of that total, the majority were the external USB modems that mobile operators have been pushing for some time.
