Deutsche Telekom Issues Profits Warning - May Write Down T-Mobile Value

Deutsche Telekom has issued a profits warning, and now expects adjusted EBITDA in 2009 to be 2 to 4 percent below last year. The company is now expecting to post EBITDA in the range of EUR18.7 billion - EUR19.1 billionn (US$24.7 billionn) after an initial forecast of EUR19.5 billion.  more

Deutsche Telekom substantially increased its customer numbers in 2008

Deutsche Telekom has issued a trading statement and says that it saw encouraging developments in its mobile communications markets during last year. The number of customers with the companies in Europe and the United States totaled 128.3 million. This means that the number of customers increased organically by 7.6 million. The contract customer segment accounts for 5 million of this growth with a current customer base of 65.9 million.  more

T-Mobile Sues Poland's Elektrim for US$5.8 Billion

Deutsche Telekom's mobile subsidiary, T-Mobile has filed a lawsuit against Poland's Elektrim for US$5.8 billion - reports Bloomberg News, citing a local news report. According to the report, Deutsche Telekom claims it is losing money in the battle with Elektrim and French Vivendi for control over Polish mobile phone company Polska Telefonia Cyfrowa (ptc).  more
