Telenor is in the process of transforming itself into one of the giants of the mobile industry. It's third quarter results show another strong operating performance and this has led to an even stronger rise in profitability. Specifically, revenues rose 5.7% quarter on quarter and by a massive 35% year on year. When combined with improved margins at both the EBITDA and Operating Profit levels, the result is a 4% rise in operating cash flow, quarter on quarter, and a 23% increase in operating profit. more

Serbian network passes subscriber base landmark
Serbia's MTS says that it has passed the 1.5 million customer mark. In the same time, the number of base stations is completed to 300, which enables mobile network to be available to 91% of the inhabitants of Serbia. In the period from December 2001 to December 2002, MTS increased the number of its customers from 650,000 to 1.4 million, which presents a growth of 115,38%. Montenegrin operator promonte made a growth of 43.15%, Monet 37.75%, and Mobtel 16.16%. more
