LG Handsets to include Hindi SMS Feature
LG is launching a handset for the Indian market which will include Hindi language in its predictive text messaging applications. Local LG engineers ported Tegic's Hindi T9 predictive text input software to the LG KG110 GSM handset at the LG engineering center in Pune, Maharashtra State, India. Hindi T9 software in Version 7.4 offers users advanced word completion functionality, enabling mobile users to press just a few keys to pull up the desired word. A Singapore student has broken the World Record for typing in a sample SMS message. Mr Ang Chuang Yang, 16, a student from Raffles Institution, clocked 41.52 seconds - a timing faster than the current world record - in a bid to smash the time of 42.22 seconds set by American Ben Cook in July this year. more
