Skyworks Solutions has announced that the industry's top five handset OEMs are leveraging its Intera portfolio of EDGE and WCDMA power amplifiers and front-end modules. Solutions in volume production include the SKY77174 power amplifier module for Band I, the SKY77175 for Bands II and V, the SKY77329 and SKY77519 for quad-band EDGE, as well as proprietary architectures developed for specific customer use. more

Anadigics Shipping Power Amps for CDMA handsets
Anadigics says that it is now shipping production volumes of dual-band CDMA Power Amplifiers to Nokia. Anadigic says that it has received production orders for its quad-band GSM/GPRS power amplifier modules from two GSM handset manufacturers in Asia. Anadigics' AWT6108 GSM/GPRS PA module has been selected by a handset OEM in Taiwan for two new GSM/GPRS clamshell phones including a camera-enabled tri-band handset. The Anadigics PA was also selected by an ODM in China for a dual-band GSM handset serving the domestic China market and scheduled for introduction in early 2004. more

Unity to supply CDMA repeaters to China
Unity Wireless has entered into its second major supply agreement with a Chinese customer to provide RF power amplifiers valued at US$2 million over a 12-month period. The first US$100,000 shipment of CDMA RF power amplifiers under the agreement is scheduled for delivery in January, with the remaining amplifiers expected to be delivered over the balance of this year. In addition, Unity Wireless has agreed to develop a line of GSM amplifiers for this customer in anticipation of a similar supply agreement, which is expected to be entered into during 2002. This customer is Unity Wireless Corporation's second Chinese customer and one of China's largest manufacturers of indoor repeaters and an OEM repeater distributor. more
