The government of East Timor (also known as Timor-Leste) has announced plans to break the telecoms monopoly currently enjoyed by the Portugal Telecom subsidiary, Timor Telecom. Portugal Telecom owns just over 41% of Timor Telecom, which was granted a monopoly concession for 15 years in 2002. more
