Verizon Wireless acquires license in Lebanon

The USA's Verizon Wireless has completed the acquisition of a PCS license serving the Pittsburgh PA BTA [Basic Trading Area] from Devon Mobile Communications for US$10.5 million in cash. In a separate transaction, the company also acquired a PCS license and certain network assets serving the Lebanon, NH BTA from Devon Mobile. The purchase price of the Lebanon transaction is US$635,000 in cash, of which US$437,000 was for the PCS license. more

Verizon Wireless buys up more radio spectrum

The USA based CDMA network, Verizon Wireless says that it has completed the acquisition of 50 PCS licenses and related network assets from Northcoast Communications, for approximately US$750 million in cash. The proceeds, net of payments to the FCC, will be distributed to Northcoast's partners, which are comprised of Northcoast PCS and a subsidiary of Cablevision Systems Corp. Cablevision's portion of the proceeds will be used to reduce the company's debt. more
