Sony Reported to be Working on Playstation Mobile Phone

Sony is again rumoured to be considering a game station/cell phone combo thought to be based on the Sony playstation platform, reports Reuters, citing the Japanese Nikkei newspaper. Sony is expected to set up a dedicated project team to develop the new product, which combines Sony Ericsson phones with Sony games technology within the next couple of months, the newspaper added.  more

Sony Ericsson has shown off a new phone, the Aino -which includes connectivity to the Sony playstation games console. Aino also introduces Media Home, an application that pulls media content from Media Go on your PC over Wi-Fi to your phone automatically. Users just insert their Aino into its charging stand and it automatically synchronizes with all the latest media content on their PC.  more

Sony Ericsson Denied Playstation Brand - Expects Full Year Loss in 2009

Despite posting a loss for 2008, Sony Ericsson expects that new products and ongoing efficiencies will help the firm to return to profitability in the second half of this year. The firm has typically launched 30-40 new handsets each year, but will cut that to somewhere in the region of 25-32 phones this year.  more
