Orange Expected to Sell Sony Ericsson's PlayStation Phone in the UK
Orange UK is reported to be close to sign a deal to sell Sony Ericsson's oft-rumoured playstation phone, which is now expected to be formally announced at next month's Mobile World Congress. Citing a "well placed industry source", the trade magazine, Mobile Today said that the deal was being signed by the group holding company, Everything Everywhere, but that sales would be limited to the "premium" Orange brand. more

Sony Developing PlayStation Branded Smartphone
On-off rumours that Sony may launch a brand of its own mobile phones are back on again after a report that the company is working on a whole range of handheld gadgets based around its playstation platform. Citing people familiar with the matter, the Wall Street Journal said that he Japanese electronics giant also has a project under way to develop a portable device that blurs distinctions among a netbook, an e-reader and a playstation Portable, or PSP. more
Sony Reported to be Working on Playstation Mobile Phone
Sony is again rumoured to be considering a game station/cell phone combo thought to be based on the Sony playstation platform, reports Reuters, citing the Japanese Nikkei newspaper. Sony is expected to set up a dedicated project team to develop the new product, which combines Sony Ericsson phones with Sony games technology within the next couple of months, the newspaper added. more

Sony Ericsson Denied Playstation Brand - Expects Full Year Loss in 2009
Despite posting a loss for 2008, Sony Ericsson expects that new products and ongoing efficiencies will help the firm to return to profitability in the second half of this year. The firm has typically launched 30-40 new handsets each year, but will cut that to somewhere in the region of 25-32 phones this year. more
