Foxconn Full-Year Profits Drop 83%

Foxconn International Holdings - the mobile phone manufacturing division of Taiwan's giant Hon Hai Precision Industry has reported a net loss for the second half of last year, which dragged its full year profit down by 83.% to US$121 million - compared with US$721 million a year earlier.  more

iPhone Showing High Wi-Fi Usage Rates in the USA and UK

Mobile advertising agency, AdMob has highlighted growing Wi-Fi usage in the US and the UK in its November Metrics Report. Worldwide iPhone requests grew 52 percent month over month to 359 million in November, giving the iPhone 6.3 percent of total requests. In the US the iPhone is now the top device with 9.9 percent of requests.  more

Smartphone Owners Play Games More Often than Use the Business Tools

According to Portable Devices, the most recent report from leading market research company, The NPD Group, at least half of the owners of portable devices are using their devices about the same if not more today than they were three months ago. This is especially pronounced among smartphone owners, with 46 percent claiming they use their smartphones more.  more

Apple iPhone Rank as the Top Phone This Christmas in Europe

comScore, which monitors internet activity has released the results of a study of the frequency of online search inquiries for the most popular gadgets in the UK, France and Germany this Christmas. The products studied were twenty different models of gadgets from the game console, mobile phone, and portable music player segments. The study covers the early stages of the Christmas shopping season during the first three weeks of November.  more

Apples iPhone Could Have Massive Profit Margins
