Sony Reported to be Working on Playstation Mobile Phone

Sony is again rumoured to be considering a game station/cell phone combo thought to be based on the Sony playstation platform, reports Reuters, citing the Japanese Nikkei newspaper. Sony is expected to set up a dedicated project team to develop the new product, which combines Sony Ericsson phones with Sony games technology within the next couple of months, the newspaper added.  more

Rice-led project aims to boost performance on microprocessors

Foxconn Full-Year Profits Drop 83%

Foxconn International Holdings - the mobile phone manufacturing division of Taiwan's giant Hon Hai Precision Industry has reported a net loss for the second half of last year, which dragged its full year profit down by 83.% to US$121 million - compared with US$721 million a year earlier.  more

Sony Ericsson Denied Playstation Brand - Expects Full Year Loss in 2009

Despite posting a loss for 2008, Sony Ericsson expects that new products and ongoing efficiencies will help the firm to return to profitability in the second half of this year. iPhone Showing High Wi-Fi Usage Rates in the USA and UK

Mobile advertising agency, AdMob has highlighted growing Wi-Fi usage in the US and the UK in its November Metrics Report. Worldwide iPhone requests grew 52 percent month over month to 359 million in November, giving the iPhone 6.3 percent of total requests. In the US the iPhone is now the top device with 9.9 percent of requests.  more
