The CDMA Development Group (CDG) today announced that the Asia-Pacific (APAC) region once again leads the global CDMA ecosystem in terms of subscribers, revenue and service creation. CDMA2000 Network Launched in Hong Kong

Hong Kong's pccw has launched a CDMA2000 mobile service, notes a statement from the telecoms regulator, OFTA - which is aimed primarily at providing roaming services for visitors to the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region.  more

CDMA Worldwide Subscriber Base Reaches 431 Million

The CDMA Development Group (CDG) has announced that CDMA subscribers grew to more than 431 million, and CDMA2000 grew to more than 417 million during last year. The Asia-Pacific (APAC) region added the most net subscribers, and Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA) grew the fastest by percentage.  more

Hong Kong Awards CDMA2000 License to Sole Bidder

Hong Kong's telecoms regulator, the Office of the Telecommunications Authority (OFTA) says that it has awarded a 15 year CDMA2000 license to the sole bidder, pccw-HKT Telephone (pccw-HKT) for a payment of US$9.8 million. The license will be formally awarded once payment has been received.  more
