Packet One Buys Dormant WiMAX License in Singapore

Packet One Gets Permission to Expand WiMAX Coverage

WiMAX Coverage Expands in Malaysia

Malaysian WiMAX network operator, Packet One Networks says that it has expanded its network coverage to include arious areas across Ipoh, Kuantan, and Kuala Terengganu. The company has a target of covering 35% of the Malaysian population within a year.  more

Malaysia's P1 to Delay WiMAX Launch

Malaysia's Packet One Networks (p1) has delayed the launch of its WiMAX network until the third quarter of this year. The launch and network rollout was expected later this month, but the company says that it wants to carry out further trials of its initial WiMAX service. The current trials are being carried out in parts of the Klang Valley, including the Kuala Lumpur City Centre area.  more

Alcatel-Lucent Wins Malaysian WiMAX Contract

Malaysia's Packet One Networks has awarded a WiMAX contract to Alcatel-Lucent worth an initial US$71 million. Under the agreement, Alcatel-Lucent will supply p1, a subsidiary of Green Packet Berhad and WiMAX 2.3GHz license-holder, with a complete, turn-key, end-to-end integrated WiMAX wireless broadband solution, including base stations, wireless access controllers, and an operation and maintenance center. Alcatel-Lucent also will be responsible for designing, supplying, constructing, installing, testing, commissioning, integrating, optimizing and maintaining p1's WiMAX network.  more
