Ericsson to block Nokia's Symbian ambitions
Ericsson says that it plans to increase its investment in Symbian in a move to prevent Nokia taking control of the handset os vendor. Last month, Psion agreed to sell its 31.1% stake in Symbian to Nokia for US$250 million, in a move that would lift Nokia's stake to 63.3%. However, Symbian's five other share holders have right of first refusal options, allowing them to purchase a stake in the shareholding up for sale that corresponds to their interest in the venture. more
