Sixth Network to Launch in Uganda

­Uganda's sixth mobile network is expecting to launch its network tomorrow (Tuesday) with coverage in 38 towns, reports Bloomberg News. The company, I-Tel has plans to invest US$150 million over the next three years expanding its network.  more

Swiss Networks May Cooperate on LTE Network Upgrades

­The President of the Swiss telecoms regulator, ComCom says that two of the country's three mobile networks could cooperate on building their LTE networks. Marc Furrer said that Sunrise has agreed in principle to the idea, but that orange was still considering the proposal.  more

Orange Gets 3G License in Jordan

Jordan's telecoms regulator, the Telecommunication Regulatory Commission (TRC) says that it has awarded a 3G license to orange Jordan for a price of JD50 million (US$70.5 million). The license is valid for 15 years.  more
