O2's exclusivity agreement with Apple in the UK for the iPhone is coming to an
end, as the device is to be available on both orange and Vodafone. O2 and the UK's
two non-iPhone mobile network operators will undoubtedly need to find a
response. However, the shift in Apple's strategy highlighted by the
announcement means that other markets are likely to follow suit.

Sixth Network to Launch in Uganda

Total wireless subscribers in France to reach 65.9 million in 2013

(IEMR) is also expecting that SFR will see its subscriber market share decline from 34.2% in 2008 to 33.9% in 2013, while Bouygues Telecom's share of subscribers will remain stable over the next several years at approximately 16.6%. more

Swiss Networks May Cooperate on LTE Network Upgrades

Orange Upgrades Voice Call Quality in Moldova
orange Moldova has upgraded the voice sound quality on its network to support the WB-AMR codex. This is the second step in orange's high-definition (HD) voice strategy, following on from the launch of a high-definition voice service for VoIP calls in 2006.
