Optus Details Plans to Expand Australian Network Coverage
optus Australia has announced an investment program to expand its nationwide mobile network beyond 96 per cent population coverage to reach 98 per cent. The program will cost AU$315 million (US$298 million) and is targeted for completion by December 2009. more

Optus Renews Telecoms Contract with Australian Bank
Australian banking group, St. George has renewed its contract with optus - cementing a partnership which began in 2001. Optus Australia Confirms 3G at 900Mhz - Announces Vendors
optus Australia has confirmed that it will use a combination of 900MHz and 2100MHz frequency ranges to complete its 3G/HSPA network, and has appointed vendors Huawei and Nokia Siemens Networks for the completion of the roll out. When complete, the network will cover 96 percent of the population, replicating the coverage of optus' existing 2G network which covers over 650,000 square kilometres. more
