Opera Releases Beta Issue of its Latest Mobile Web Browser

Norway's Opera Software has released its first public version of its mainstream mobile internet browser, Opera Mobile 9.5 beta. Opera has changed the face of its mobile browser in this beta release. As with the latest version of Opera Mini, Opera Mobile 9.5 beta now defaults to page overview mode, allowing the user to view the entire Web page and instantly recognize the Web site. Opera Developing Chinese Mobile Internet Browser

The Chinese mobile content provider, KongZhong has signed agreement with Opera Software to develop a Chinese language version of Opera's mobile internet browser for mobile phones.  Under the agreement, the two companies will develop a "KongZhong Opera" browser solution for Chinese mobile phone users with Kong.net as the default home page. The "KongZhong Opera" browser is expected to be offered for downloading at no charge and can enable mobile phone users to browse both traditional Internet sites and WAP sites through their mobile phones. more

Firefox Considering Mobile Web Browser

The Mozilla Foundation is reported to be considering developing a mobile phone version of their Firefox web browser. Mozilla Foundation CEO, Mitchell Baker, in a interview with APC Magazine said that the not-for-profit organisation would look at developing a mobile client, but not for some time yet. more
