3G is the Solution to Indian Spectrum Crisis

"In the current situation of paucity of bandwidth, 3G is a solution for spectrum", said Mr. T V Ramachandran , Director General, Cellular Operators Association of India at the Second Annual Telecom Regulatory Seminar, organised by the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) earlier this week. As a panelist in the session on 'Regulatory issues and spectrum', he said that regulatory consultation is required as far as limitation of spectrum and assignment of bandwidth is concerned. "First rights should be with the existing players in issuing 3G spectrum", said Mr. Ramachandran. more
