Fragmentation Poses Chief Threat to Android Platform Growth

Nokia Linux Adoption Is a Defensive Move

Recent developments are further evidence of the growing acceptance of Linux in the mobile communications space. Notably, Nokia announced that it has joined the non-profit Linux Foundation (LF), reportedly to work with the LF on Linux-based technologies, including the Nokia Internet Tablet, in a vendor-neutral environment. The company has also released an SDK, which extends S60 to the open source and Linux communities. more

Traffix Provides Support for IMS Diameter Protocol Interfaces

The Israeli software house, Traffix Systems says that its OpenBloX Diameter framework product has successfully completed testing and has full support for the entire set of 3GPP and 3GPP2 Diameter interfaces. With this announcement Traffix says that it has become the first company to supply the market with full implementation and support for the entire set of 3GPP and 3GPP2 Diameter interfaces and reference points up to the latest available 3GPP Release 7 specifications. more

Linux Poised to Expand Role as Mobile OS

The use of Linux as a mobile operating system (OS) has been steadily growing, with an increasing number of companies announcing plans to develop Linux platforms.
