­Altair Semiconductor has announced that its chipsets will power the LTE router being used during o2's upcoming digital dividend and 2.6GHz friendly user trials in Germany. o2's LTE trial will allow residents of rural areas in Germany with o2 coverage to receive an LTE WiFi FRITZ!Box router from AVM and receive free service from o2 for six months.  more

Nokia Siemens Networks Deploying Trial LTE Network in East Germany

Nokia Siemens Networks says that it is to supply Telefonica o2 Germany with a pilot LTE network in Halle (East Germany) and will start network deployment in September 2010 in the 2.6 GHz and 800 MHz spectrum. The network will go into operation by the end of this year; it is not planned to operate the pilot LTE network commercially in the first phase.  more
