O2 to run GPRS based video trials
O2 is about to conduct a mobile video trial with its UK's customers using its existing GPRS network to help create a mobile video service planned for launch later this year. O2 has selected 350 of its customers to take part in the trial that will begin at the end of this month. more

MMS interconnection for most of the UK networks
mmO2 has announced plans for MMS interconnect with Orange and T-Mobile in the UK. Vodafone was notable for not offering MMS interconnection at the same time, although mmO2 said it was still in talks with other un-named operators. O2 Germany customers have had interconnect with both T-Mobile and Vodafone from December 2002. more

UK to cut mobile termination charges
The UK's telecoms regulator and Competition Commission is to order the country's mobile phone networks to cut their incoming termination charge, in a move that has been roundly criticised by the networks. Oftel says that consumers would save US$307 million each year to 2006 in calls from fixed to mobile phones as a result of a 15% cut in termination rates by July, with further cuts proposed over the following two years. more
