O2 Fiscal Year Pretax Profit GBP309 Million Vs GBP95 Million

LONDON -(Dow Jones)- O2 said Wednesday that full year group revenue rose to GBP6.683 billion, compared with group turnover of GBP5.694 billion the previous year, or GBP5.646 billion from continuing operations, while pretax profit was GBP309 million, compared with a profit of GBP95 million the previous year.  more

O2 enabling SMS's to be sent from MS Outlook

General Wireless has signed an agreement with O2 Ireland to enable all O2 subscribers to send SMS messages from the MS Outlook application on their PC's. The O2 offering, named "Desktop Text" will be offered to both prepay and postpay customers, and the software program will be downloadable from the O2 Ireland website. The SMS traffic will be charged to the phonebill or deducted from the prepaid account of the subscribers. more
