Nortel CEO Mike Zafirovski steps down
nortel Networks reported a 25% drop in second-quarter revenues to US$1.97 billion, with declines in all segments and regions and increased by 14 percent from the previous quarter. The company reported a net loss in the second quarter of 2009 of US$274 million, compared to net loss of US$113 million a year ago. more

Czech Railways has selected nortel GSM-R technology to provide wireless communications to the 207 km Czech section of the International Railway Corridor IV between Austria and Poland. nortel partner Kapsch CarrierCom will supply and deploy the network.
