FMC and femtocell equipment markets poised to take off in face of downturn
Market research firm Infonetics Research has released a report on FMC and Femtocell Equipment, which forecasts that combined, sales of FMC network element equipment and femtocell equipment are expected to grow at a healthy rate through the economic downturn and really take off in 2011, reaching nearly $8 billion worldwide by 2013. more

IMImobile takes over Music2You service from Nokia Siemens Networks
Mobile services provider, IMImobile announced last month that it had taken control of the Music2You (M2Y) service previously provided by nokia Siemens Networks. Under the M2Y brand, nokia Siemens Networks provided full-track music download and subscription services to telecom operators and media companies, Vodafone in India, AOL in Germany and Akado in Russia. more

Telkomsel Boosts Mobile Broadband Capacity with 3G Direct Tunnelling
nokia Siemens Networks has helped Indonesian operator, Telkomsel to increase its HSDPA throughput by moving toward a flat architecture with Direct Tunnel, a software upgrade to the packet core network that simplifies the network and the data flow between the end-user and the Internet. It enables operators to take the first step towards the all-IP foundation of LTE (Long Term Evolution), which mandates flat architecture with a dedicated node for data traffic control. more
