Nokia Siemens Wins Indonesian Network Contract
Indonesian mobile operator Telkomsel has signed a new frame agreement with Nokia Siemens Networks to "greatly expand" its existing network coverage, boost capacity and improve performance. The deal between Telkomsel and its long term network and services supplier Nokia Siemens Networks, covers the supply, deployment and integration of WCDMA/HSPA radio access networks (RAN) as well as 2G base station sub-system (BSS) and services solutions in the country. more

Nokia Siemens Networks Wins Chinese Contracts Worth $1.1 Billion
China Mobile and China Unicom have separately signed agreements to purchase 2G and 3G mobile equipments and services from Nokia Siemens Networks during 2009. Under the framework agreements Nokia Siemens Networks will roll out WCDMA networks for China Unicom in 11 provinces across China. In addition, it will provide China Mobile with TD-SCDMA and GSM networks. more

Taiwan Operator Upgrades 3G Network
Nokia Siemens Networks has won a ¢â€š¬72 million (US$115 million) contract to expand the 3G network operated by Taiwan's Chunghwa Telecom. The contract will enable the operator to trial Nokia Siemens Networks' Internet High Speed Access (I-HSPA) network. more

Thai Operator Takes Initial Base Station Delivery from Nokia Siemens
Thailand based mobile operator, DTAC has taken the first delivery of what will be 1,500 EDGE base stations from Nokia Siemens Networks. The Flexi Base Station technology enables operators to minimize the number of base station sites and the need for air conditioning at the sites. Moreover, the solution allows operators to deploy software features to optimize the use of radio access for wireless communications. All these benefits not only result in a more environmentally friendly network operation, but also lower operating and capital costs for operators. more
