SFR Migrating Backhaul to All-IP Network
French mobile network operator, SFR has contracted with Nokia Siemens Networks to migrate its mobile backhaul network to all IP (Internet Protocol), enabling the operator to increase capacity while keeping costs under control. Nokia Siemens Completes 2nd Phase of China Mobile TD-SCDMA Rollout
Nokia Siemens Networks has announced that it is one of first vendors to complete phase two deployment of China Mobile's 3G network, based on TD-SCDMA technology. Economic Benefits From Broadband if Overall ICT Access and Skills are High
A new econometric study commissioned by Nokia Siemens Networks and conducted by economic consulting firm LECG under the direction of Professor Leonard Waverman explored the economic benefits from the wave of broadband diffusion that occurred in Europe and the United States over the last 10 years. The study finds that in countries where ICT diffusion and usage were at medium or high levels, not only had broadband technology spread rapidly but the economic benefit from improved broadband penetration was significant. more

Nokia Q2 Sales Up - Profits Drop 61%
Nokia has reported second quarter net sales of EUR 13.2 billion (US$21 billion), up 4% year on year and up 4% sequentially. Net income fell to EUR1.1 billion (US$1.75 billion) in the quarter - down on the EUR2.83 billion (US4.5 billion) a year ago, and down on the EUR1.22 billion (US$1.94 billion) in Q1.
