India's Tata Teleservices (TTSL) has selected Nokia Siemens Networks to support the launch of its new 3G network. Nokia Siemens Networks will provide network implementation and managed services to ensure a smooth rollout, improved network performance and seamless introduction of new services. The company will also provide its NetAct network management system to monitor, manage and optimize the 3G/HSPA+ network, and supply other operational support systems.  more

India's BSNL Bans Huawei, ZTE from 5.5 Million Line GSM Contract

India's BSNL h­as formally barred China's Huawei and ZTE from bidding in the latest round in its on/off tender for some 5.5 million GSM lines for its Northern and Eastern zones. According to a report in the Economic Times newspaper, the state-owned telco has specified that only Ericsson, Nokia Siemens Networks and Alcatel Lucent will be able participate in the bidding process.  more

Nokia Siemens Networks Wins Indian Network Deployment Contract

Nokia Siemens Networks has won a US$300 million contract from India's Aircel to roll out, manage radio and core network and services in three Indian states. Aircel is expected to roll out services in these three circles, Haryana, Punjab, and Rajasthan in April and, under a managed services contract, Nokia Siemens Networks will operate the network in these three circles for four years.  more

Nokia Siemens Networks says that it has won a contract from India's Unitech Wireless to supply GSM network for the company's operations in six circles that include Gujarat, Maharashtra, Rajasthan, Punjab, Jammu & Kashmir and Himachal Pradesh. Nokia Siemens Networks will also be responsible for network operation and maintenance as a part of the Managed Services contract with the mobile operator.  more
