Nokia Siemens Seeking Tawainese FemtoCell Production
Nokia Siemens Networks is reported to be in talks with several Taiwan based manufacturers over plans for the joint production of femtocell base stations. The company is trying to drive the price down from the current average of US$250 per unit to around US$100, which would make it a lot easier for operators to start offering them as consumer products for Fixed-Mobile services in the home. more

T-Mobile Invests in Femtocell Manufacturer
T-Mobile's Venture Fund has made an investment in 3G femtocell developer, Ubiquisys, joining Google and original investors Accel Partners, Atlas Venture and Advent Venture Partners. The Ubiquisys femtocell is currently in mass production with Sony Technium. These units are being used by Ubiquisys' partners such as Nokia Siemens Networks and NEC, to satisfy operator trials worldwide including T-Mobile. more

Nokia Siemens Teams with Ubiquisys to market 3G Femtocells
Nokia Siemens Networks has signed an agreement with Ubiquisys to cooperate in the marketing and sales of 3G femtocells to mobile operators worldwide. Ubiquisys' ZoneGate femtocell supports industry standard interfaces and conforms to Nokia Siemens Networks' Femto Gateway's open architecture. more
