Thai Operator Takes Initial Base Station Delivery from Nokia Siemens
Thailand based mobile operator, DTAC has taken the first delivery of what will be 1,500 EDGE base stations from Nokia Siemens Networks. The Flexi Base Station technology enables operators to minimize the number of base station sites and the need for air conditioning at the sites. Moreover, the solution allows operators to deploy software features to optimize the use of radio access for wireless communications. All these benefits not only result in a more environmentally friendly network operation, but also lower operating and capital costs for operators. more

Thai Mobile Operator Awards Fixed Line Contract to Nokia-Siemens
Nokia Siemens Networks has signed its inaugural fixed network deal with DTAC Network, a wholly owned subsidiary of Thai mobile operator DTAC. This contract extends Nokia Siemens Networks' footprint in DTAC as its sole supplier for both wireless and fixed equipment. DTAC Network received its IDD license to operate International Voice services in February this year. more
