Ericsson Tops IMS Vendor Matrix Ranking

Ericsson has been ranked at the top of the latest Vendor Matrix released by ABI Research, maintaining the position it held in the last edition of this Matrix. Alcatel-Lucent and Nokia Siemens Networks claimed the second and third spots in the company's new evaluation of worldwide IP Multimedia Subsystems (IMS) infrastructure vendors. Alcatel-Lucent showed a stellar rise compared to its #6 rank in the previous Matrix, while Nokia Siemens held its previous position.  more

Nokia Siemens Teams with Ubiquisys to market 3G Femtocells

Nokia Siemens Networks has signed an agreement with Ubiquisys to cooperate in the marketing and sales of 3G femtocells to mobile operators worldwide. Ubiquisys' ZoneGate femtocell supports industry standard interfaces and conforms to Nokia Siemens Networks' Femto Gateway's open architecture.  more

Nokia Siemens Joins with Thomson to Develop 3G Femtocells

Thomson and Nokia Siemens Networks have announced a collaboration in developing a 3G femto cell home access solution. Trials of the 3G Femto Home Access solution including Thomson's residential gateway will start at the beginning of 2008, and commercial deployments are planned for the third quarter of 2008. While the femto market is still in its early stages of development and consequently difficult to forecast, market research firms ABI Research and Ovum respectively estimate this market could reach ten to twelve million units by 2010. more
