Taiwan's Chunghwa Telecom Orders Next-Gen IMS Platform
Nokia Siemens Networks has sealed a deal with Taiwan's Chunghwa Telecom for its Next Generation Network IMS (NGN IMS). This is the first contract award from Chunghwa for its five-year NGN plan. Nokia Siemens Networks will deliver to Chunghwa infrastructure and services as part of its IMS Core solution, and will also provide its consumers and business customers VoIP and fixed softswitching solutions. These should enable Chunghwa to be the first operator in Asia-Pacific to introduce IMS-based VoIP services. more

Nokia Siemens Wins Pan-Caribbean Core-Network Contract
Cable & Wireless and Nokia Siemens Networks are extending their global frame agreement to include the deployment of Nokia Siemens Networks' Release 4 and Intelligent Packet Core networks architecture, a single platform that will be able to support GSM and 3G networks in the Caribbean. The core network solution will be designed provide full redundancy across all the Caribbean regions that the operator serves; allowing for continued service during critical situations like hurricanes. more

Nokia Siemens Wins $900 Million Indian Contract
India's Bharti Airtel has signed a US$900 million network expansion contract across it's mobile and fixed networks with Nokia Siemens Networks. In the first multi platform network contract of its kind to be awarded in India, Nokia Siemens Networks will expand Airtel?s GSM network in eight circles; its National Long Distance and International Long Distance network with 1.8 million Next Generation Network (NGN) ports ? the largest ever NGN contract in the country ? and its International Calling Card prepaid service capacity by 4.5 million news users. more
