Taiwan's Chunghwa Telecom Orders Next-Gen IMS Platform
Nokia Siemens Networks has sealed a deal with Taiwan's Chunghwa Telecom for its Next Generation Network IMS (NGN IMS). This is the first contract award from Chunghwa for its five-year NGN plan. Nokia Siemens Networks will deliver to Chunghwa infrastructure and services as part of its IMS Core solution, and will also provide its consumers and business customers VoIP and fixed softswitching solutions. These should enable Chunghwa to be the first operator in Asia-Pacific to introduce IMS-based VoIP services. more

Nokia Wins Turkish Network Contract
Nokia and Turkish mobile operator AVEA have signed a three-year framework agreement for the deployment of the Nokia MSC Server 3GPP compliant mobile softswitch. The Nokia softswitch will be central to AVEA's plans to modernize its network by creating Turkey's first Next Generation Network (NGN). more

Nokia demos IP multimedia over CDMA networks
Nokia says that it has successfully demonstrated live IP multimedia applications based on its 3GPP2/3GPP-compliant IP Multimedia Subsystem (IMS) over a commercial CDMA 2000 network. Nokia says that it is the first company to complete this demonstration, broadening its IMS capabilities to include CDMA in addition to the evolutions of GSM technology. more
