Maxis Communications Selects NetCracker to Optimize Infrastructure
Malaysian mobile network operator, Maxis has selected NetCracker Technology to manage its network infrastructure and enhance overall operational efficiency. NetCracker’s solution will enable Maxis to consolidate and manage diverse systems across its fixed and mobile infrastructure to obtain a more unified view of the network. The company said that these efficiencies will be felt most strongly in wireline and mobile planning, provisioning, and reconciliation of infrastructure assets. more

Mobile network optimisation vendor, Arieso has announced that am unnamed European operator will be rolling out ariesoGEO across its network. ariesoGEO uses data transmitted by mobiles in the normal course of conducting a call and requires no additional hardware, such as GPS in handsets, to operate in real time or historical analysis mode. more

Arieso Wins US GSM Network Optimisation Contract
Wireless network optimisation firm, Arieso says that it has been chosen by one of the three largest mobile network operators in the USA (unnamed, but GSM based and hence has to be AT&T) to provide a country-wide Automatic Cell Planning (ACP) solution. The multi-million dollar contract will see Arieso replace a number of tools with a single, centralised solution covering over 50,000 cell sites. more

70 percent of daily engineering work is wasted
A survey carried out on behalf of the network optimisation services provider, Actix has reported that mobile operators are wasting 70 per cent of engineering time every day because they don't have access to the right network management information, according to its recent survey of network engineers. The survey results highlight that engineers are wasting nearly three quarters of their day trying to access network status information, which is complicated and time consuming. more

Czech Operator Optimises its 3G Network
The Czech Republic based Eurotel has selected UK-based wireless network optimisation specialists Arieso to maximise the performance of its new 3G network, which went live at the start of December. Eurotel will use Arieso's pioneering algorithm-based product Altaro to optimize its 3G network, which includes the HSDPA technology upgrade, in order to deliver the best possible levels of service to its subscribers. more
