Singapore's StarHub Names former MobileOne CEO as New Boss

Singapore's StarHub has announced that former CEO of rival operator, MobileOne is to take over the helm at the company. Starhub's current CEO, Terry Clontz will retire in January 2010, but he will continue as a Director with the Group. Succeeding him as CEO is Neil Montefiore, who surprised the industry by resigning his post of CEO at MobileOne earlier this year.  more

MobileOne Sales Up - But Profits Dip Slightly

Singapore based mobile operator, MobileOne (M1) has reported that service revenue grew by 1.6% year on year to S$738.5 million (US$494 million). EBITDA margin for the fourth quarter increased 2.4 percentage points quarter-on-quarter to 44%, bringing the full year's margin to 42.9%. Normalised net profit for the year (excluding prior year's tax adjustments) declined 4.5% to S$150.1 million (US$100 million).  more

MobileOne CEO Announces Resignation

Neil Montefiore, the CEO of Singapore telco, MobileOne (M1) has announced that he is resigning from the company effective at the end of this month. The company has named Chief Financial Officer, Ms Karen Kooi Lee Wah as acting CEO until a permanent replacement can be found.  more

Singapore Operator Reports Slip in 9-Month Profits

Singapore mobile operator, MobileOne (M1) has reported that its pre-tax profit  for the nine months ended 30 Sept 2008 declined 6.9% to S$139.9 million (US$94.5 million). Service revenue increased 3.6% year on year to S$559.7 million, driven by growth in the mobile and international sectors, while EBITDA margin on service revenue stood at 42.5%.  more

Huawei Wins Singapore 3G Contract

Singapore's MobileOne (M1) says that it has picked Huawei to support the future expansion and upgrade of the companyÃ's 3G and HSPA (High-speed Packet Access) network. MobileOne Upgrades Optical Backbone Network

Ericsson has won a two-phase turnkey contract to implement microwave and optical transmission solutions for Singapore's MobileOne (M1). Singapore Operators Share Mobile Video Service

Singapore's two smaller operators - M1 and Starhub have announced plans to share access to M1's mobile video platform, MeTV. Launched by M1 in January 2007 to offer its customers a medium to upload and share their video clips on the mobile platform, MeTV will now be made available by StarHub to its customers in early 3Q-2007. more
